Position Requirements: Clinical experience and/or skills relevant to the assigned area of practice. Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills. Highly developed skills in leadership, public relations, teambuilding, problem solving, decision-making, conflict management, analytical skills and critical thinking abilities. Computer proficiency.

Certifications for assigned area of practice:

o BLS, ACLS

o Nurse Executive (ANCC) or Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (AONE) or appropriate clinical/specialty certification preferred

o CPI: Crisis Prevention Intervention

o NIMS: National Incident Management System (IS-100.HC, IS-200.HC, IS-700)

Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).

Position Responsibilities: The Administrative Nursing Supervisor, acting as an Administrative Representative, ensures efficient operations, facilitates and supports nursing and interdisciplinary care standards throughout the service(s) in alignment with the organization's mission, values, and philosophy. The Administrative Nursing Supervisor fosters and demonstrates collaborative relationships with Hospital Leadership including CEO, COO, CNO and non PCS department management. The nurse leaders in this role facilitate the provision of patient care services; coordinates interdepartmental resources; supports, guides and serves as clinical consultant to on site nursing leadership and staff; collaborates and coordinates patient care delivery with physicians and other licensed care providers; represents the hospital to the patients, families, community and external agencies and hospitals as required; serves as a liaison between nursing staff, hospital administration and other departments and disciplines regarding patient care and other related matters during the evening, night and weekend hours. The Administrative Nursing Supervisor also provides available resources for problem solving in emergencies and unprecedented situations and assumes the role of Incident Commander in the event of hospital emergencies and unpredictable situations.
