The Division Director is responsible to provide oversight and supervision for all aspects of the Nephrology service. Included in this responsibility is to advance the tripartite mission of the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) for the Division of Nephrology by training undergraduates and graduates for careers in academic Nephrology, by advancing knowledge of kidney disease and it's treatment through active clinical and translational research, and by providing exceptional patient care at University Hospital and all NJMS practice locations including dialysis centers.
The Division Director is the leader for the faculty of the Nephrology Division. The position is a 1.0 FTE at the mid-career Associate or Full Professor level. Responsibilities include recruiting and appointing new faculty; faculty promotions; overseeing educational, clinical and research programs; and planning short term and long-term strategic growth. The Division Director reports to the Chair of the Department of Medicine.
