We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Secretary I.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating scheduling for patients and clinical staff, integrating each party's needs for optimum results. Resolves a variety of problems and issues by acting as a liaison between patients and staff
* Maintains/develops/fosters a cooperative and professional relationship with physicians, nurses, professional and office staff. * Demonstrates communication skills: using appropriate vocabulary and grammar when obtaining and conveying information to physicians, nurses, professionals and other staff at various levels; in person, over the phone, in writing and in electronically sent messages. * Responsible for collecting self payments, co-payments and reconciling all payments daily. Works closely with Billing Coordinator as necessary. * Performs miscellaneous administrative duties and provides reception coverage area as needed. * Answers phones and screen incoming calls and provides information, takes messages or redirects calls to the appropriate department. Answers phones within a timely manner. Accurately provides information and/or redirects callers to the appropriate department. Takes accurate messages and forwards message to the appropriate individual within a timely manner. * Obtains insurance pre-authorizations for services when necessary. Effectively communicates charges to self-pay patients. Properly refers patients to the Financial Counselor as necessary. Effectively communicates and collects co-payment from patients. Contacts insurance companies as necessary to obtain needed pre-authorization information for needed services. * Effectively communicates charges to self-pay patients. Properly refers patients to the Financial Counselor/Billing Coordinator as necessary. * Utilizes applicable computer systems to schedule patients for needed services. Effectively communicates scheduled services and provides information to patients and caregivers as necessary.
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills and strong customer service orientation required. Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and Internet applications required. Light, accurate keyboarding skills required. Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and thrive in a team work environment.
