Description:

Behavioral Health RN is responsible for implementing the nursing process in the care of the acutely ill psychiatric patient. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of care and patient teaching. The professional nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for delegation of patient care tasks to other members of the health care team

QUALIFICATIONS:

License to practice as a Registered nurse in the state of New Jersey

Successful completion of Basic Life Support

Successful completion of AC LS

Certification in clinical specialty within 5 years of hire date

1 year experience in the care of the psychiatric patient - Preferred
National Certification in Behavioral Health Nursing - Preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to see within normal limits (including identification of colors) with or without use of corrective devices

Ability to hear within normal range with or without corrective devices

Motor dexterity of hands and fingers

Ability to utilize proper body mechanics

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Ability to bend, lift, move and pull frequently

Ability to lift at least 35 pounds without assistance

Ability to communicate in the English language orally and in writing

Ability to work in hot or cold areas

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Physicians, nurses, patients and families, administrative staff, hospital employees, department heads/supervisors, contractors, visitors

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Interior/exterior areas, including patient care areas. May be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat
