Training courses and workshops are held in various locations, including but not limited to: Gorham, Augusta, Portland and Lewiston. The Instructor collaborates with the Agency's training department to develop new initiatives to ensure compliance with State of Maine regulations and the needs of the Agency.**Job Summary**1) Responsible for instruction of clinically oriented training courses and workshops on topics involving health and safety and care and support of service recipients. Courses include BDS DSP: MR, CRMA, CRMA Refresher, SAFE LIFTS & TRANSFERS, CPR/FIRST AID, INFECTION CONTROL and others as developed and assigned.* Provides nursing consultation to residential, day, and other programs as requested* Chair and staff the GINNE Medication and Treatment Committee and the Disaster Preparedness Committee.* Serves as a member of the Maine Developmental Disabilities Network (MEDDN).******Knowledge:**_ Functions that pertain to learning and maintaining levels of information necessary for success._* Evaluates and revises existing course curricula, methods and materials on an annual basis.* Acquires new knowledge, skills and certification through self-study, participation in education and training programs and certification courses as directed.**Administration:**_Functions that pertain to daily activities of running a business_* Creates course and workshop plans, learning objectives, assessments, course content, handouts, audio-visual aides, and evaluation tools to support the instruction process.* Assists with the development of new education and training programs for Agency employees and other constituencies through researching specific topics, review of participant learning assessments and evaluations, and needs surveys***Minimum Qualifications:** The lowest level of qualifications accepted for this position.** Current State of Maine License as a Registered Nurse* CRMA certified* Current basic level American Red Cross Adult CPR (or higher level) certification or equivalent* 3-5 years experience in similar training position and/or organization* Ability to use a PC to include: e-mail, Internet, and Microsoft Office software and effectively use AV equipment* Demonstrated ability to develop learning objectives & curriculum for training/instruction* Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and adult learning styles* Prior experience in presentations to groups up to 50 people* Reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance* Valid driver's license permitting operation of a vehicle in the State of Maine with a satisfactory driving record* Criminal background check that meets Agency standards* *_**Preferred Qualifications:** Qualifications which, in addition to the minimums, help describe the ideal applicant._* Bachelor's degree* Completion of Maine's CRMA 'Train the Trainer' course* CPR and First Aid licensed Instructor## Qualifications### Skills**Preferred****Communication - written***Advanced***Communication - verbal***Advanced***Teaching/Training***Advanced*### Licenses & Certifications**Required**CPRCRMADrive.
