The CCO is a key member of the Concord senior leadership team responsible for providing a clear sense of strategic and operational leadership to ensure efficient, seamless clinical operations and care delivery. This physician leader will work to champion quality, align providers to reduce variation of care, foster clinical effectiveness and implement a culture of excellence in the delivery of clinical services improving the health of the populations of patients served by CH. She/he will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic priorities related to clinical integration, medical community growth and development, clinical process improvement, and the development and implementation of programs that improve clinical quality and patient safety. Building on a position of strength, she/he will oversee the transformation of CHMG to a delivery structure capable of thriving under pay for performance and programs based on quality measures and on patient satisfaction. The CCO will further evolve the infrastructure for CHMG and lead the provider enterprise into a mature, cohesive and contemporary group practice, which is fully integrated in the System. The CCO is the designated institutional official and oversees excellent teaching programs for the students, and residents who are receiving education and training at Concord. The CCO must ensure successful ACGME accreditation and the recruitment of high caliber residents. It is critical that the CCO establish her/himself as a visible, approachable individual and be a transparent, proactive, effective communicator. She/he must have a genuine and authentic way with people, displaying active listening skills and being naturally orientated to and personally invested in taking the time to understand the culture and people. She/he must be viewed by providers as a trusted and credible individual who is a reasonable and honest broker in handling issues.
