General Summary: Reports to department manager/leadership. Provides sedation and support services in collaboration with physician(s), NP, or PA, as well as radiology and nursing staff.Performs a wide variety of patient care activities, accommodative services, and administrative functions to support the medical care of patients and families. Responsible for providing nursing care, treatments, and services.Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations. Participates in on-going quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures.Provides support to orientation and training of staff.Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient, family, and staff education.Demonstrates effective use of time and resources.Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Training Minimum: Current State license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license with Bachelor's degree in nursing and 3 years related experience required. Pediatric experience preferred. Radiology or PACU experience preferred. Will consider Associates in Nursing / Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience and actively enrolled in a BSN program within three years completion from the date of hire. Knowledge and skills in nursing procedures. Interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication with providers, nursing personnel, and radiology staff. CPR training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. PEARS training required within 90 days of employment. PALS training required within 6 months of hire.ACLS training required within 12 months of hire. Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.
