Purpose/Objective of the job:

* Implements a broad array of business analytics for key stakeholders within the US Oncology organization

* Brand Teams - areas of responsibility include:
* Customer Segmentation and Sales Targeting

* Resource Allocation

* Enablement of Forecasting and Multi-Channel Analytics

* Business Performance
* Drives the application of fact based decision making for the US Oncology business related to the assigned tumor types

* Ensures best practice adoption within stated areas of responsibility, applying appropriate levels of technical capability and subject matter expertise to address business questions

* Designs and executes market/business analysis to improve value to our patients through deepened market understanding and practical application

* Proactively manages flow of planned and ad hoc analytics requests, ensuring consistent quality and timeliness in delivery to business stakeholders

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:

* Drives business performance (reporting), customer segmentation, resource allocation, multi-channel analytics, and ad-hoc analytics supporting in-market brand leadership and country strategy/operations partners

* Supports forecasting enablement consistent with the financial planning calendar and ad-hoc business need

* Leverages standards for the provision of analytics to support planning and decision making processes, and utilizes analytics escalation processes

* Provides input/feedback to improve and enhance capabilities related to analytics deliverables including support of innovative data sources

* Manage ambiguity by questioning data and/or stakeholder for further nuanced information. Ability to operate on less than perfect data, by having a sound logical framework. Can develop new ways of thinking about a problem, in order to provide an effective solution

* Supports culture of analytics and fact-based decision making through the utilization of standard methodologies and approaches to deliver analytics across the current and expected indications/tumors

* Develops and maintains a deep understanding of business priorities, meeting agreed upon analytics deliverables/timing

* Effectively collaborates with a broad set of cross functional counterparts (including Strategy & Operations Leads, Brand Leadership, CEC, MR, Sales Operations, Medical and Finance) to achieve organizational objectives

* Partners effectively with Market Research, enabling a transparent, inclusive and thought diverse environment of knowledge sharing

* Assists markets ex-US, when necessary, on Analytics related activities

* Develops seamless, collaborative, cross-functional approaches to problem solving and holistic cross-customer analysis

* Collaborates with other members of BI&A to ensure the consistent application of team vision across capabilities and services

* Manages and executes workload prioritization across analytics, leveraging other teams within BI&A and across BMS to successfully achieve business objectives

* Understands, demonstrates, and drives adherence to all BMS operating policies

List of minimum requirements:

* BA/BS required (quantitative area of study preferred)

* 5+ Years Pharmaceutical Experience

* Extensive experience in the application of advanced analytics and reporting techniques to solve business problems

* Strong knowledge and Hands-on experience of secondary healthcare data (ie: EMR, Claims, Sales, etc.)

* Preferred experience working in the therapeutic area of Oncology

* Experience interpreting markets and ascertaining implications to the business

* Experience operating successfully in a complex organizational environment

* Experience interacting with senior management, understanding, anticipating, and fulfilling their insight/analytical information requirements


* Draw inferences from disparate pieces of data, identify key findings and link to implications and provide recommendations

* Strong creative problem solving skills to answer key business questions

* Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities

* Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of national & subnational data analysis; applied statistics

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to quickly gain and apply therapeutic knowledge

* Ability to learn new tools quickly

* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse teams across organizational lines and structures

* Proven knowledge of medical or healthcare marketplace dynamics

* Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functionally and manage a heavy workload
