Providence Health is looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to joinour Surgical Telemetry Unit for the Downtown Campus. This is a nights/thirdshift position with rotating weekend shifts.

  • Demonstrates ability to assist the RN in monitoringpatients physiological, psychosocial, and environmental needs. Makes nursingjudgments based on these findings.
  • Monitors vital functions and detects deviations fromYESrmals.
  • Interprets clinical findings and correlates with patient’scondition.
  • Provides input into an individualized Plan of Careinvolving patient and/or family in this process.
  • Continually assist the RN monitoring patients' needs andcondition.
  • Demonstrates ability to set appropriate priorities.
  • Safely administers medication according to hospitalpolicy and procedures (keeps well informed of the dosage, effects, andside-effects of medications).
  • Performs nursing procedures safely, efficiently andskillfully, according to hospital policies and procedures. Obtains directionfrom Scope of Services and departmental specific competencies and/or assistancewith unfamiliar procedures and/or equipment from Scopes of Services anddepartment specific competencies. This includes Point of Care TestingCompetencies.
  • Assigns aspects of patient care to other nursing staffaccording to patient needs and staff qualification. Performs nursing proceduressafely, efficiently, and skillfully according to hospital policies andprocedures (obtains direction and/or assistance with unfamiliar proceduresand/or equipment).
  • Promotes and maintains patient/employee privacy andconfidentiality.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Work Experience

    Inpatient Areas: One-year experience preferred.

    Minimum Education

    Graduate of an accredited LPN school.

    Required Licenses

    [South Carolina, United States] Licensed Practical Nurse

    Licensed or eligible for licensing in State as LPN.

    BLS & ACLS certification required.
